Here are some photos from the Picnic Face show in which Improv U participated! It was exciting and hilarious. <lj:music>night of the living dead on the tee-vee</lj:music>

As promised, here is today's photo of my (attempt at) purple hair. Um... I'm sworn off bleach because I somehow still have remnants of it in my hair from the grade 10 green tips which is awful. Sooo this purple business actually just kinda turned into greyish dark brown that only really looks purple when the light shines through it. I'm glad I only did the under-layer because a whole head of that wouldn't be very nice. But I'm still sad that I can't have fun colorful hair without damaging it on the way. Oh wells. I should have taken a picture of the bathtub instead. It looked like Psycho but instead of Janet Leigh it was the Grimace who got stabbed to death. (Yes, I am working under the assumption that Grimace blood is the same color as Grimace skin.) Also I AM wearing a shirt in this picture! Our apartment is the upstairs and the downstairs-neighbors are senior citizens who crank the heat, so at night in the summer it is a million degrees and thus ugly spaghetti strap shirts are required for sleeping.

    <lj:music>april march ♫ chick habit</lj:music>

I've been a little bit busier with work and such lately, but I have been taking pictures! Most of these are from Bunkers the other night. I had given up on taking photos there because the light is terrible (and I can't be bothered to adjust more than the minimal settings on my camera). But when I saw that there was a new red gel up at the BA Johnston show, I decided to try it again on Saturday. I ended up with some very, very red photos, as you will see under the cut. This one is cooler and tends to be what happens whenever I use the flash on a band that moves around a lot:

^ Colette & Harry /// The Roots & Rhythm Remain v

I don't know how this next one happened but I like it!

And one of the cats for good measure. Yes, Zombie is sitting on Kean. And no, she doesn't really care.
It's not a particularly cute photo, just a good example of how awkward people raise awkward cats.

I've been taking pictures, I just haven't been posting them! Oh, bother.

I did, however, change my layout! I really liked the first one but it didn't really work for posting pictures every day (or, you know, every second or third day...). I'm not sure if I'm 100% on this one either, but it's a bit better. And green!

Anywhooo, here is yet another Zombie photo. He was all stretched out and I took the opportunity to show off his freakish length. I always wanted a weiner dog, and I think I got the equivalent in a kitty! Maybe you can't really tell from the picture, but from head to toe he's as long as James's arm-span. What a weirdy.

Some trees! I love the first one for how it wraps around the telephone pole. The photo also kinda reminds me of the poster for Big Fish! The other tree is the big one in front of our house. A bunch of those little flowery leaves fell down to the sidewalk and I picked one up for a closer look, but it got crushed in my pocket. :(

Some more railroad tracks by the duck pond, and a crappy picture of a pigeon. I just realized today that we have a few different ones on our side too, so I'll have to go get a better look at those. This was just a quick shot because I didn't want to seem like a creeper around the neighbors' window, but I think it came out nice!
Today's excuses: Our trip to Centreville was extended because of a snowstorm (?!) on the island, which meant no USB cord on Saturday or Sunday. I had a bunch of things to do upon returning on Monday, and by the time I got home from running around, I was exhausted (car-lagged?). Yesterday I just forgot. Altogether I owe 9 photos, which is precisely the number of pictures I took while I was gone! It was rainy and yucky all weekend, so I pretty much only took pictures of the animals. And half of them aren't great because of bad lighting and finicky subjects. I suck at this blog!

I got ridiculously hungry on the drive there and really wanted a veggie burger from Harvey's. We hit an A&W about 5 minutes away from the Harvey's, but James convinced me that the A&W really was the last eatery because he was afraid I was going to pass out. It was kind of cool, though, because they let us use their fancy frosted root beer mugs! This picture came out crappy but whatevs.

James lucked out at A&W when they gave him three dead cows for the price of two. I didn't really want to take a picture, but it was probably the most exciting thing that ever happened to him.

Now for the animals! Jacquelyn and Chris presently have three kitties, two doggies, and a hamster. There's also a tarantula but I was afraid that I would knock something over and break her little glass house and kill her and/or us. Bella and Allie are first. These are my favorite photos because they hang out upstairs by a big window with lots of light coming in.

The hamster was pretty much impossible to get because he's so finicky. This is the best one and it isn't great. I love the color of the wall in his room though! The first kitty is Riff-Raff. He does this bizarre/adorable thing that looks like he's begging or praying, but I never had my camera around whenever he decided to do it.

The last two kitties are Azzie, who is tiny, and Dagon, who is an enormous ball of darkness. I have provided a photo of James with Dagon so you can see how monstrous he actually is. He will eat your soul.

And with that, I'm off to get some work done! Maybe tomorrow I'll get this blog back on track.

And the rain is back, so you get to see more of the crap that goes on in the apartment! Plus I know I'll be missing tomorrow, as I don't plan on being around a computer or even taking my USB cord with me... Oh wells.

The first is another food picture. Sometimes I feel like a sucky vegetarian because I really only like a handful of veggies. But fruit, nuts, and yogurt are my best food friends. Which is why I keep taking pictures! It's ridiculous how happy food makes me.

We ran out of OJ yesterday, and I was getting sick of Crystal Lite, so I decided to see if I could make some raspberry juice. Now, when we moved in, James's mom, who knows that I love (and have about 50 Orange Julius recipes memorized for) smoothies, bought us a ginormous heavy-duty blender. Which was very nice and exciting. Until I realized that it was TOO heavy-duty for me and my complete lack of physical strength. So every time I want to mash up fruit, it's a battle, and the blender always wins. But yesterday I happened to think that the mess I made was fun-looking, so I took a picture. The dish soap is not an ingredient.

In the process of attempting raspberry juice, I managed to make the kitchen smell bad. So I decided to bake cookies to make it smell nice again. Upon hunting down my chocolate chips, however, I discovered that James had eaten most of them. I had enough for 1/6 of the recipe, which meant 6 cookies. Here are the little guys cooking in our oven (through the tomato-sauce stained window, of course). I meant to take a picture when they came out, but they were too good to wait and there were only two left by the time I remembered.

Today I cleaned the apartment, so I decided to take some pictures in the other rooms. I would like to point out that there is a big difference between mess and clutter. All of the mess is gone, but James and I will forever live happily in clutter.

This is a little ledge on the way up the stairs. Thanks to this photo, I realize that we really need to put something on that empty wall.

The, uh, "office" area of the bedroom. We don't actually call it that. Though we do have a snazzy calendar featuring the employees of THE Office!

Anddd the last two are of the living room. Where I will presently be heading to watch some guilty-pleasure television. Hooray!

We didn't get home until after midnight last night, so I missed a day yet again! This is turning into a photo-every-second-day blog. But whatevs. You just keep getting to enjoy the double-photo penalty!

Yesterday was the last day of Oak Island. I could never get any photo-ops because I had too much to do in the sound booth, but since David Sneddon missed the dress rehearsal, we had a photo-party afterwards! Mine are all on facebook, but this is my favorite:

The two behind the cut consist of a pretty tree in Brent's yard AND James driving! He was finally pestered into getting his license last month but hasn't driven since. But this weekend I stubbed my toe and got it all bruised and swollen and hurty, so he drove me around! It was very strange to call James to come pick me up, hahaha.

I think I probably missed yesterday on purpose because I knew the sun was finally supposed to come out today. Double pictures for yesterday plus one for today! James and I took a walk to the Farmers' Market. I was kinda disappointed because I really wanted fresh fruit and veggies, but the only thing in season is potatoes, and we definitely can't eat a whole bag of those before they go bad. But there was a chocolate table! These are some of our purchases. They are pretty and delicious.

    <lj:music>rain rain rain rain rain</lj:music>

I barely hit the two-week mark and I skipped two days in a row! Oh me. I actually have an excuse for Tuesday; I didn't get to my camera until right before midnight and then the battery was dead. As for yesterday, I was just being lazy. I think it's mostly that it's been raining for a bazillion years so I'm getting sick of taking pictures of things in the apartment. But since Thursday is Office night I decided to take one of the Dwight bobblehead James got me!
